Paulownia NZ: Specialist Suppliers of NZ-Grown Paulownia
Paulownia Grown and Milled in New Zealand
The first time you pick up a piece of paulownia, prepare to be amazed. Despite being a hardwood with one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any wood, paulownia is incredibly light.
This unique combination of lightness and strength makes paulownia a highly sought-after timber with a wide range of uses. In New Zealand, paulownia is commonly used for boatbuilding, surfboards, and furniture. It’s also an excellent choice for interior sarking, snowboards, picture frames and polo mallets.
At Paulownia NZ, we grow and mill paulownia timber on our farm, south east of Te Awamutu. We currently have around 500 trees planted around our paddocks, ensuring a continual, sustainable source of timber.
If you’re seeking high quality, locally-grown paulownia timber for a surfboard, boat or furniture building project, you’ve landed in the right place.
